3. Dostana
Dostana is a film that was loved by so many. The plot involves Neha (Priyanka Chopra) renting out a flat for girls only, which is why Sam (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John Abraham) pretend to be gay, in order to live there. While it involves them both eventually falling in love with Neha, the friendship that develops among the three as roommates is super fun! They hang out and enjoy each other’s company the most. Even when Sam and Kunal mess up, they try to fix it, because they care for Neha and realise their mistake. Their bond goes through ups and downs, but at the end of it, they always want the best for the other!
4. Cocktail
This 2012 romcom is a story about friendship, a love triangle and the sacrifices we make for friends. Two polar opposites Veronica (Deepika Padukone) and Meera (Diana Penty) are roommates and best friends. With Gautam (Said Ali Khan) entering their lives and their apartment, the equation between the three begin to change. It evolves from a complicated love triangle, to a sacrifice made by the friends for each other. 5. Queen
After being dejected because her wedding was called off, Rani (Langan Ranaut) decides to go for her honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam alone. When she stays at her hostel in Amsterdam, she is shocked to know that her roommates are three men and they’re from different parts of the world. Although she is hesitant, she eventually becomes great friends with them and ends up spending most of her time with her new roommates. Rani’s meet with her roommates and Vijayalakshmi (Lisa Haydon) in Paris, gives her a boost of confidence and independence.
6. Love per square foot
The movie that clearly shows the difficulties people can face, while buying or renting a house. The story revolves around Sanjay (Vicky Kaushal) and Kareena (Angira Dhar) who face problems buying a house as an unmarried couple. Watch to know all the stories they cook up and the plan they make, just so that they can get a house of their own. From strangers to a couple, because of the want of having a house in Mumbai. Watch them find their soulmates. This romcom is perfect for a Netflix and chill day.
7. Koi Mil Gaya
Another out of the world roommate plot here! This is quite literally an out of the world Roommate bond, as Rohit (Hritik Roshan) hides Jadoo, an alien, in his room. Jadoo helps Rohit by giving him superpowers and enhancing his mind. Rohit does his best to protect Jadoo, from authorities that will harm him. Along with his friends, Rohit keeps Jadoo a secret, finds a safe place to hide Jadoo in his house. The bond they develop over a short period of time, and the help and concern for each other, makes it as precious as any other roommate bond.
8. Pyaar Ka Punchnama
Roommates Rajat/ Rajjo (Kartik Aryan), Nishant/ Liquid (Divyendu Sharma) and Vikrant Chaudhary (Raaho Bakhirta) are bachelors sharing a flat in Noida. The movie is about the dramatic change their lives take with the introduction of women in each of their lives. Where one is made to do all the work of a female colleague, the other loves someone who isn’t over her ex yet. The movie shows how these roommates grow apart, until realization strikes! Kartik Aryan’s famous monologue is from this movie and there is also a sequel to it.
