The pandemic seems like it’s been on for ever now. There are so many things we’re missing during this time and can’t wait back to do again. Initially, the lockdown felt like a much needed break, but as the situation got severe, we missed being outdoors. We miss our friends, family, food, favourite places, travelling and much more. While it is still unsafe do do all this, we can’t help but think of when we will be able to. So here are 8 things we can’t wait to do once the pandemic ends.
1. Enjoy Street Food and Dining Out
When the lockdown began, there was no ordering food, everything was homemade. Even though we’ve now begun ordering food from our favourite restaurants, once the pandemic is over, we will be able to finally enjoy street food and be able to dine out. We can visit our authentic local restaurants and street food stalls and relish our favourite dishes once again.
2. Street Shopping Spree
While online shopping may have risen, and malls too are opening, we can’t wait to go back to street shopping. Walking on the crowded streets, browsing through some cheap but amazing stuff and of course, bargaining, how long has it been since you last did that? Revamp your post pandemic wardrobe with jewellery, clothes, shoes, bags and accessories from your favourite street shopping location!
3. Meeting friends physically
Enough with the virtual celebrations and parties already! We can’t wait to meet our friends after a long, long time. Give them a hug, enjoy their presence and do other crazy stuff with them. Can’t wait to go roaming, enjoy eating, having house parties and to annoy them a little more. We definitely have plans on what we’re going to do and where we’re going when we finally get to meet them. What’s your plan?!
4. Making outdoor plans
Meeting scheduled for “given time” is one of the only plans we’re making currently. While it’s a relief to at least interact with people virtually, we can’t wait to make outdoor plans, and be assured that they will happen soon. Visiting amusement parks, going for a swim, trekking, going on a vacation, enjoying a movie in a theatre and the list goes on. There are so many outdoor plans we have in mind with family and friends, just waiting for the pandemic to end. Are you never going to cancel plans now, or will you soon go back to doing that?
5. Lesser Virtual Sessions
Less virtual sessions please, we’re so tired of constantly checking whether our video is on and whether we’re on mute. The zoning out is real and the screen time is too much. Imagine when you finally step out and people are no more boxes. When you can attend sessions and shows live. A time when you don’t have to keep asking, “Am I audible?”. But yes, we will definitely miss having the option to be on mute and have some people on mute!
5. Getting out of our pyjamas
Remember buying some new clothes for the summer vacation or to refresh your wardrobe. Then came the lockdown and you almost never got to wear them. Yeah, we do dress up a bit for virtual meetings, but in reality, we haven’t seen our jeans in a long time. Will they still fit, well that’s for you to try on now, but we really do miss getting out of our pyjamas and into some fancy clothes. However, staying in the same clothes all day is quite comfortable, especially for lazy people!
Ah yes! Travelling, not to the grocery store, and going out without fear. Be it just travelling within the city, or taking a trip abroad, we can’t wait to do so. With so many people missing their train commute, the roads and other transportations, travelling after so many months (hopefully not years) is going to hit differently. I’m sure we’re all excited to finally visit places for fun and not for necessities only! Which is the first place that you would want to travel to once the pandemic ends, and through what transportation?
8. Not dreading every time you cough
Remember when coughing (of course, while covering your mouth) was not a big deal and a sneeze was returned with a bless you? Now, any sign of that and we automatically have worries. Be it us or the ones around us, you hear someone cough and all you can think of is “corona”. Can’t wait for the pandemic to completely end and not having to be worried every time before you cough.
Those were 8 things we cannot wait to do once the pandemic ends. Did you have answers to the questions asked throughout, or did you not make imaginary plans during quarantine? Hopefully, this ends soon and we’re all back to enjoying all the things we miss so much!
