The COVID-19 pandemic and lockout caused not only fear and panic but also a deep sense of nostalgia in most of us. Almost everything can be divided into before and after the COVID-19. And once the lockdown has been lifted and the situation has improved, we ‘re still dreaming of places to visit and things to do. You do the same thing, we bet!
Here are the best cafés in Bangalore that you definitely need to visit to let go of the stress lockdown and the cravings for good food and ambient dining.
Cafe Down The Alley, Banashankari
Being a passionate book-lover of comics, this one is one of the places we miss most during the lockdown. What we love about the cafe, apart from its comic stash, is its quirky artwork which makes it perfect for fun Instagram photos! Think of Batman emitting a ‘coffee signal’ instead of a bat signal and bonding the Justice League over coffee. Joker and Hulk are also shown here in the murals. Sigh! chuckle! What we wouldn’t give to the munching of their short food and the bonding of conversations with friends for another evening there.
Om Made Cafe, Koramangala
Om Made Cafe is one of Bangalore ‘s finest couples’ cafes. It is a lovely rooftop cafe cum restaurant located in the ambiance of Koramangala — one of the most popular residential areas of Bangalore for millennial generations. It’s perfect for couples to enjoy dinner or dating from a wide range of food items available here with fantastic rooftop ambient dining facilities. Planning to spend some nice moments with your loved one after the lockdown? Then Om Made Koramangala Cafe is one of Bangalore ‘s best cafes, made only for you!
Karma Kappi, Jayanagar
Karma Kappi is a quaint café offering a crazy range of international brews. We thought the grass-covered seating was very fascinating. If you’re having trouble choosing what to order, thanks to their in-depth coffee experience, the workers would definitely recommend some great drinks. But we recommend that you try their seasonal Vietnamese Mango coffee, loaded with freshly chopped mangoes, solid coffee concentrate, and light condensed milk, blending this cocktail beautifully. Request their Pan Asian starters while you’re at it, and you’re too ready to go!
Lazy Suzy, Indiranagar
Located among the many restaurants on the 80 Feet road of Indiranagar, Lazy Suzy is one of the cafes in Bangalore that fades all of them. The cafe is one of the cafes in the city that allows you to spend hours sitting in the atmosphere and enjoying a meal with your friends or even working on your laptop for a long time. The famous Deli Sandwich, Chicken Quiche, Baked Yogurt, and many others to satisfy your taste buds include a variety of food-loving cuisines.
Cafe Pink Pajamas, Kalyan Nagar
If you’ve been watching Alice In Wonderland or reading this classic as a kid, watch the Mad Hatter Tea Party come alive at Cafe Pink Pajamas, one of Bangalore ‘s best cafés. The colorful décor and luxurious throne-like chairs make this café an Insta-worthy affair. Skip the monotony and head over here for the best signature homemade pastures, thin-crust pizzas and hearty daily breakfasts.
Champaca, Vasanth Nagar
We just regret all the weekends we stayed in and missed the opportunity to spend time in such a beloved place as Champaca. Vasanth Nagar Square has bookshelves with a variety of tomes, lovely window spots, and great food to keep you busy. Don’t be surprised to find all of us comfortable in the corner seat with one of their books, post the lockdown. They’ve just started collaborating with Happy Belly Bakes, which means we can try our favorite Dark Hot Chocolate while there.
Two Friends Cauldron, JP Nagar
This is one of the cafes for which we would brave the traffic and go all the way to JP Nagar. Two Friends Cauldron is without a doubt one of our favorites with its wizard-themed décor and a clear reference to Harry Potter. The cozy place is bound to delight the fans of Harry Potter, from the broomsticks hanging from the ceiling to the part of the wall marked ‘The Platform’ with half of the luggage trolley popping out of it! The dishes come with names like Serious Circles, Bellas Tricks, and Buddy’s Beer to stick to the theme. When we finally get to the next place, we’ll make sure that we make most of their photo props and pose away with potions and elixirs in their corners.
Zoey’s, Sarjapur Road
A lovely café on Sarjapur Road, Zoey’s is one of the kind cafes that is renowned for its great food and environment. A foodie called Farheen, who wanted to call her daughter by the same name, and now this cafe has the name of her daughter. Here, along with cold coffees and juices, you will enjoy a variety of food items such as waffles, pasta, burgers, etc. Post lockdown is the perfect time to explore this wonderful place and list it as one of the best cafés in Bangalore.
Mudpipe Café, Hosur Road, BTM
If you are a vegetarian, Mudpipe Café in Bangalore ends the search for a pure veg café. Renowned for cool and funky beach theme décor, straw chairs and hanging lamps, Mudpipe cafe stays crowded at night, especially during live sports screenings or live music performances. Not to miss the enticing beer and shisha menus offerings during happy hours. Mudpipe Café is among Bangalore’s few pet-friendly cafés.
The Rogue Elephant, Basavanaguri
The Rogue Elephant is one of the best restaurants / cafés in Bangalore. It’s an open-air, casual dining destination offering continental dishes such as Italian and Mediterranean dishes that you might never have had the opportunity to satisfy your taste buds. If you’re planning to dine after the lockdown is over, it’s the best place for you to spend quality time with friends and family on the weekends.
Coronavirus and the current lockdown crisis have put people around us in fear and changed their way of life. Where once dinners with friends were regarded as a fantastic weekend series, now we have no choice but to stay at home and cook our meals. The better way to get the wheels back on the track when the lockdown ends and go to one of the awesome cafes in Bangalore.
