3. Shivneri Fort

It is situated in Thoptewadi which is nearly 25Kms far from Pune city, this hill fort is 2000 years ancient according to the data available at this fort. Sinhagad which implies ‘the fort of Lion’ has observed several conflicts along with 1671’s battle of Sinhagad.

Sinhagad is located on the tip of the hill. We can also observe the magnificent landscape of the majestic Sahyadri. Antiquity states that pioneer remembered as Kondhana, the fort was led by Mohammad bin Tughlaq before Shivaji revolted against Adilshahi and took the assessment of this fortress in 1647.
